  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or any cheese of your preference) Experiment with different cheeses.
  • 4 hoagie rolls Slice lengthwise without cutting all the way through.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, add a drizzle of olive oil and heat over medium-high.
  2. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, sauté for about 3-5 minutes until tender. If using, add mushrooms and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  3. Push vegetables to the side and add ground beef, breaking it apart and cooking until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low, place a slice of cheese over the beef mixture, cover, and let cheese melt for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  7. Spoon the beef and vegetable mixture into each roll and serve hot. Optionally, toast the rolls for added texture.

Notes

Serve these cheesesteaks warm for the best flavor. You can add toppings such as hot sauce, pickles, or jalapeños for extra kick. Pair with potato chips, a side salad, or roasted veggies to complete your meal.
